City Market is the perfect destination for seasonal shopping, featuring family-friendly activities, unique shops and plenty of entertainment. Visitors can enjoy live music and festive displays while taking in the local artistry. Best of all, our signature events are free and open to the public. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, the holiday season in Savannah City Market promises to be an unforgettable experience for everyone.

Enjoy City Market Holiday Decor

From Nov. 30 until the new year, City Market will be decked out in holiday decor. A magnificent Christmas tree, adorned with twinkling lights, will stand tall, surrounded by festive decorations that turn our courtyards into a winter wonderland. This will be perfect for photos and fun whether you visit day or night.

Celebrate the Season in City Market

“Celebrate the Season in City Market” includes two signature events: City Market Lights & Delights on Friday, December 6, from 6 to 8 p.m., and City Market Shop & Hop on Saturday, December 7, from Noon to 6 p.m. 

City Market Lights & Delights

Kick off the festivities on Friday, December 6, with City Market Lights & Delights! From 6-8 p.m., dive into an evening full of holiday magic. You’ll find exclusive discounts from local shops, lively caroling in the courtyard, and visits from costumed characters from the American Prohibition Museum, adding a fun twist to the celebration. A highlight of the evening will be the lighted procession led by Father Christmas and the Performing Arts Collective of Savannah singing beloved classics like “Oh Christmas Tree” and “Twelve Days of Christmas.” Plus, you will have the chance to meet Father Christmas for memorable photo ops while the local band, Tell Scarlett, sets the festive mood with their music. Don’t forget to check out the delicious offerings from nearby restaurants, as they will be donating a portion of their proceeds to charities of their choice, making your evening of fun even more meaningful!

City Market Shop & Hop

The fun continues on Saturday, December 7, with City Market Shop & Hop! From Noon to 6 p.m., explore local shops and artisan tents filled with holiday treasures while enjoying live music. Lynn Avenue will kick off the musical festivities from 12 to 2 p.m., followed by Clovers Revenge from 3-6 p.m., creating a lively atmosphere throughout the day. Many stores will be offering discounts all weekend, making it the perfect time to tackle your holiday shopping list. For a family-friendly adventure, don’t miss the Ornament Search, where you can find a unique ornament designed by a City Market artist or hunt for a hidden Santa rubber duck that you can trade for a special limited-edition ornament. Additional activities include a photo op with Father Christmas on a decorated carriage, face painting, fairy hair for the kids and much more. It’s a day full of shopping, music and holiday cheer that you won’t want to miss!

Where do I park?

Getting to Savannah’s City Market is easy, thanks to several parking options available to visitors. The Whitaker Parking Garage is the closest to City Market, making it a great spot to park and enjoy the festivities without a long walk. If you prefer lots, the W. Bryan Street Parking Lot is the nearest option to City Market, offering easy access to all the holiday fun. Street parking is another available option, with thousands of metered spaces throughout the area (Use the Park Savannah App). Also, follow City of Savannah to learn about free parking in garages Downtown on set days and between certain hours during the holiday season.

Our signature events are free and open to the public. Our merchants will also have special events throughout the holiday season so follow them for more information.
